IDARATHON is Morocco's first public administration hackathon. Its origins lay in the COVID crisis, when the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform and Enabel created a partnership to devise this visionary initiative.
IDARATHON, a fusion of the terms IDARA and Hackathon, is more than a simple competition. It's an unprecedented opportunity for civil servants (men and women) to turn their vision of the future Administration into reality. Candidates, carefully selected from the 14 partner departments, are supported by experts in digital innovation to find effective solutions to the challenges that the public Administration is facing, using new working methods based on agility, innovation and collaboration to guide their efforts from ideation to development.
IDARATHON's approach is based on a number of key pillars:
● Skills building for sectioned candidates
● Bringing civil servants (women and men) closer to the challenges inherent in public administration
● End-to-end support for innovative projects
IDARATHON embodies harmonious collaboration and the harnessing of collective intelligence. Participants, organised in teams, come together to develop solutions to the challenges tha public administration is facing. As Sarah Lamrani, Secretary General of the Ministry for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, said: "IDARATHON was conceived during the covid period with the aim of working together and capitalising on collective intelligence to find solutions to the challenges facing public administration".
