The Taggàt programme in Senegal is committed to an ambitious mission: reducing the gender digital divide. The initiative is based on a "Research-Action" approach.
In perfect harmony with the training activities in basic digital skills for women, the aim of this approach is to bridge the digital gap between the sexes within Senegalese society.
In partnership with Senegal Numérique SA (SENUM SA), the programme is offering basic digital literacy training for "Badiénou Gox" women, community intermediaries who facilitate dialogue between health structures and local populations. These training sessions focus on the use of computers and smartphones, with the aim of making women familiar with the use of digital technology in their activities. This initiative also encourages a change in behaviour that will enable them to better fulfil their role as community intermediaries.
The programme aims to empower women by increasing their use of information and communication technologies, thereby promoting access to information and training for better socio-economic integration, and contributing to a significant reduction in the gender digital divide.
