From 11th to 13th May 2022, Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, hosted the e-Learning Africa expo-conference, the leading new technologies event dedicated to training and skills development. On this occasion, e-TAMKEEN, wishing to strengthen the digital skills of its partners, organised a study trip for the most advanced departments in the field of digital learning.
The delegation travelling to Rwanda began their discussions on 9 May with a workshop focusing on current digital learning practices within the Moroccan public administration. The workshop also provided an opportunity to identify the challenges associated with distance learning and to consider innovative ways of meeting them.
The following day was divided into two parts. In the morning, Enabel's e-learning initiatives were presented. This exchange brought together various delegations, including digital enthusiasts from several Enabel countries who were also invited to the e-Learning Africa event. In the afternoon, the Moroccan delegation discovered the Rwandan digital ecosystem, with remarkable visits such as the Rwanda Polytechnic Multimedia Lab and the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS).
On 11th May, the Kigali Convention Centre was at the heart of discussions and debates on e-learning. During this major event, a number of e-learning experts took to the stage, offering enriching and captivating sessions.
The e-TAMKEEN teams was particularly invested by hosting two public sessions. The first, in the form of a World Café, saw the participation of all the Enabel staff present on the main theme of "Digital Policies for Education Institutions: Key Success Factors". Friday began with a second presentation by e-TAMKEEN, on "Reskilling & Upskilling the workforce in your Institution": the team shared its initiatives, focusing on the adaptation of Moroccan public administrations to the Covid pandemic, and the growing importance of updating skills.
In addition to their active involvement in the e-Learning Africa 2022 conference, the delegation took advantage of the trip to share and debate the best approaches, as well as the challenges inherent in e-learning. These fruitful exchanges, which took place not only between the participants, but also with other Enabel representatives and partners and, more broadly, with major players in digital learning in Africa and internationally, greatly enriched their experience.
